Where it all started

Back in 2022, when we started building our New York map with Google Maps as our blueprint, our goals were pretty straightforward nail the scale and make it fun to explore. But the real milestone came when we hosted the servers and got to see the community bring it to life. Watching players navigate the streets, find creative shortcuts, and just hang out in the spaces we built showed us we'd created more than just a map

Hosting the servers also gave us the chance to see the community interact with the map in real time. Watching players explore the city, find creative ways to use the environment, and share their experiences showed us the impact our work could have. It was a big milestone for us, proving that we could not only build large-scale maps but also create spaces that people genuinely enjoyed playing in together.

The developing side

Our New York Map was a big step forward for us in terms of design and creativity. Developing it gave us the chance to experiment with scale, detail, and atmosphere in a way we hadn’t done before. We wanted to capture the energy of the city while still making it fun and immersive to explore. The process came with its challenges, but it helped us grow a lot as a team and laid the groundwork for the projects that followed.

Whatt we were really trying to do was capture thevibeof New York, not just the skyline. We spent a lot of time thinking about how it feels to be there—the way the light hits the buildings in the afternoon, the energy of a busy intersection, or finding a quiet spot in the middle of all that chaos. We wanted players to have those moments of recognition that are more about a feeling than just recognizing a famous building. That was the real goal, and honestly, nailing that atmosphere is what we're most proud of.
